Day 2 – BURN: Rest Day

Today is my rest day and I started feeling the soreness in my chest, biceps and shoulders last night before bed. Definitely feeling it today but it isn’t crippling. I decided this afternoon when I was really tempted to take a nap to go ahead and get some cardio done, I just hate sitting idle even though my muscles are repairing…plus a good 500+ calorie burning workout is hard to resist. Chalene Johnson posted a great quote from her Facebook feed last week: “Instead of denying yourself the occassional treat..just make room for it! Count the calories, move more and move on!” So MOVE IT! I did!
I tried Shakeology for the first time today, my wonderful coach Jodie sent me samples and they arrived yesterday. I mixed a full serving with 1/2 cup of light soy milk, 3/4 cup water, half a banana and some crushed ice… texture from the banana made it insteresting considering I MIXED it rather than blended it since I cannot find my blender’s glass and I’m really not wanting to buy another when I know mine is somewhere. I’ll keep looking tonight. Anyway, it was very filling all morning and tasted pretty damn good. I like Muscle Milk because it tastes far better than EAS Myoplex Lites or Slimfast (which something in Slimfast I have a mild allergy to). Tomorrow I will try the Greenberry with just soy milk, water and ice and see how it tastes.. then Thursday I’m trying chocolate with peanut butter, nom nom!
For lunch I had a chicken sandwich with light mayo from Chick-Fil-A and for dinner it’s vegetable-laden spaghetti… Should have picked up some rice noodles as an alternative to regular pasta. Oh well — portions, friends!
