Day 5 – BURN: Circuit 3
2009
Compared to yesterday’s intervals today’s workout was CAKE! My muscles may beg to differ, especially after quiting before 10 for going TOO heavy! Still, mentally and heart-rate related yesterday still sits with me as one of the toughest workouts ever.
I think I did a pretty decent job gauging the weights for the most part, I have some areas to go up, one to go down. I noticed my strength is somewhat close to Chalene’s sister in the DVD, but each muscle group is different. Where she went 20 I stuck with 15, etc.
Here’s how I did:
| Exercise | Weight | Reps | Notes |
| Sumo Squat w/ Overhead Press | 15 lbs | 10 | 12.5 next time? or try again. |
| Lunge with Calf Raise | 15 lbs | 12 | Too light, go 20 |
| Squat with Lateral Raise | 5 lbs | 12 | Underestimated! Go 7.5! |
| Lunge w/ Frontal Press | 10 lbs | 12 | Perfect |
| Squat with Calf Raise | 20 lbs | 12 | Spot on |
| Sumo Squat with Delt Raises | 12.5 lbs | 12 | Perfect |
| Squat w/ Double Overhead Press | 12.5 lbs | 8 | Overestimated, go lower. |
| EXTREME Overhead Press | 10 lbs | 3 | |
| Lunge w/ Lateral Raise | 10 lbs | 12 | Good |
| EXTREME Pushups | - | 3 | 1 knee, 1 normal, 1 knee |
| Sumo Squat w/ Calf Raises | 15 | 12 | Maybe 17.5 or 20 next time :O |
| EXTREME Sumo Squats | 15 | 3 | Glutes were SHAKING! RAWR! |
For those unfamiliar with the workouts, the EXTREME entries are when we are given a 10 second break from the last exercise, then we focus on an exercise that goes VERY VERY slowly, and concentrate on all those connected muscles, make them tremble!
Second time with Greenberry Shakeology and I admit it wasn’t as bad as the first experience. Maybe it helped with the real blender. I mixed 1 cup light soy milk with 2/3 cup of water, a cup of ice, half a banana. It was very tolerable :)
