Hi Julie, I’m very sorry about your knee. I have a question I never ever really had to work out before. I use to be a model weighing about 105-110 and then I got pregnant now I feel that I’m forever stuck at 155. No matter what I do I can not break 150, Its killing my self confidence and it doesn’t help that I have my modeling pictures up. What program do you suggest? My problem areas are my stomach, arms and thighs. I love my curves i always have but my curves are quickly turning into mountain sides lol. please help
Hi Ashley! In my experience, my body bounced back after pregnancy BETTER than it was before! I think part of that is because to lose the weight, I had to build muscle and ultimately muscle will burn more calories in the long run than just doing cardio spurts because it continues to burn calories when you’re sedentary!
I would first recommend ChaLEAN Extreme. Take a look at the menu at the top, it involves resistance training 3 times a week, endurance cardio and cardio with plyometrics once a week and a stretch… then you get 2 rest days too. I think this is a great beginner’s workout (and it’s great for moderate and advance, too!)
It’s simply laid out, Chalene feels like a personal trainer with you and the workout adjusts to your increasing strength. The transformations I have seen have been great, and my own was exciting, especially in the final 30 days! The program costs $120 plus tax and shipping.
If you are on a budget, you might try Turbo Jam or Power90 first, they’re a little less extreme and cost $60 plus shipping and handling.. Turbo Jam is more of a cardio workout with some days of mild sculpting (this is how I started, and I was impressed by how quickly my leg muscles were defining) but it is still a good workout. Power90 is P90X’s predecessor and is highly effective. It’s kind of similar to Chalean Extreme, but down a notch.
In either program, you are going to want to keep your nutrition in check. I found that in the past some days I did not eat *enough* and other days I ate way over my daily caloric needs. The best thing to do here is first find out what your caloric needs are. I have a link to the Team Beachbody calculator to the right under “Get Fit!”. To lose a pound a week you want to create a 500 calories deficit every day, which you can do by cutting food or exercise, the best route is both!
When I was doing Chalean Extreme my caloric needs with deficit were 1600.. without any exercise it would have been 900 which is dangerously low (nutritionists say under 1200 calories you cannot give your body the proper nutrients it needs).
Also, since starting my exercise with Beachbody I have replaced breakfast with Shakeology every morning. This not only fulfills a majority of my daily vitamins and minerals, but it is full of other great ingredients that boost energy, make your body more absorbent, etc. So if you haven’t yet, watch the video from the top menu as well…
It’s alot of information, I know. But please let me know if you have any further questions!
hi so i just turned 18 and am totally at my low point. i stopped exercising when i stopped cheerleading and then tried the 10minute trainer but felt like i needed something a bit more intense. my uncle is going to let me use p90x and well i dont really know if i should do it. i mean i want to get toned but still be able to have my natural curves. any advise or plans would be appreciated. thanks. =]
Hello Monique! It is going to depend on your body type how your curves turn out, however building muscle is going to give you muscular curves (but not bulk) that will make you look both athletic and still feminine! I would say go for it, you will be pleased with the results!
thank you very much! cant wait to start. hopefully i can stay dedicated to this program
